Registration for the 2017-18 school year will begin April 6th, 2017 for prekindergarten.  New pre-school students should register at their assigned schools between 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. No appointment necessary, but please call to confirm with your assigned school the exact dates of that week that they will accept PK registration.

Registration for the 2016 - 2017 is ongoing.

Plano ISD's state-mandated prekindergarten program serves children who are four years of age on or before September 1 and who are limited-English speaking, from families that qualify for free or reduced lunch, active military dependents or who have been in the conservatorship of the Department of Family and Protective Services. The program serves Spanish bilingual children, other English-Language Learners, and children from families that meet the income guidelines.

Eligible students attend this program at no cost to the family. Children attend a morning or afternoon session.

Please bring the following documents to registration.

  • Original Birth certificate or certified copy issued by the State
  • Immunization records
  • Social Security card for the child, if available.
  • Proof of residency in Plano ISD (gas, electric bill or a lease)
  • Bring child for language assessment 469-752-8874
  • Military Dependents (Department of Defense ID required)
  • Letter documenting conservatorship by the Department of Family and Protective Services
  • Proof of income, if applicable (current paycheck stub, tax return, food stamp documentation or Food and Nutritional Services letter).

Full Day Pre-K

Full day prekindergarten will be provided to families who qualify based on income on a first-come, first served basis. For students who live in the attendance zones for Christie, Forman, Haggar, Huffman, Jackson, Memorial, Mendenhall, Mitchell, Sigler, Thomas and Weatherford elementary schools, the full day pre-k program is available at those schools. All students who do not live in these attendance zones would apply to attend full day prek at one of the district's three early childhood schools.  More information is available here in English and in Spanish.
