Plano ISD 5th grade Outdoor School has become a vital part of the students’ science and social studies curriculum. This is a three day, two night experience in which students participate in hands on learning in an outdoor environment. The outdoor school offers classes in water study, forest ecology, prairie ecology and problem solving through "challenge course" activities. Students attend the outdoor school at the 427-acre Collin County Adventure Camp located in Westminster, approximately one hour from Plano. The camp has both prairie and forest environments There are views of the rolling North Texas hills in all directions.
