Dear Plano ISD eNews Subscribers:

On Saturday, August 19, all Plano East Cluster Bands, in sponsorship with the Booster
Clubs, will participate in the first annual Plano East Cluster Band March-a-thon fundraiser at Kimbrough Stadium. All of the band students in the Plano East Cluster band programs, approximately 1,800 to 2,000 students in grades six through twelve, will participate by marching four times around the field.

The Plano East Band will provide the "marching music" with the two high school and six middle school bands marching behind. After they complete the mile sequence, all of the students will form a giant block EAST on the field at Kimbrough for a "Kodak" moment. PESH, Williams, and Clark will then combine on the field to play "Gimme Some Lovin". The middle school band students will not carry instruments, but will carry Panther spirit signs for the event.

All band students are being asked to contact people they know who will pledge 1 cent for every band student in attendance that completes the mile march. There will be a $20 ceiling on donations. Also, flat donations of $5 and up will be acceptable.

The Band Booster clubs from PESH, Clark, and Williams will be set up to sell spiritwear. The students meet at 8:30AM. The march will begin at 9AM at Kimbrough field, next to Murphy Middle School.

This fun, free event will replace the Plano ISD cars washes in an effort to save water due to the drought.
