Learning Never Stops in Plano ISD

Summer was a time for learning in Plano ISD. Every summer, opportunities are available for all grade levels to continue to learn. Programs include Plano Enrichment Program (PEP), Summer Institute for Gifted and Talented Students (SIGS), Plano Academy of Learning (PAL), Special Education, Bilingual/ESOL Kindergarten Prep Program as well as programs in fine arts and athletics. Many high school classes are available for summer study, and that's not all. Beyond the hard work, there is time for fun, reflection and a dose of inspiration. Just a reminder that learning is a journey that doesn't have to stop just because school's out for the summer.

CORE Store WFAA news story video

The Plano ISD Education Foundation CORE Store for teachers was featured on today's WFAA broadcast. Take a look! Watch video. video

Supported by community donations and corporate sponsors, such as Capital One, Kroger and Medical Center of Plano, the CORE store is helping teachers help students without having to dip into their own pockets to do so. Superintendent of Schools Dr. Brian Binggeli emphasized the importance of providing this kind of resource to teachers. “Teachers do not lower their expectations, but rather, they will provide assistance from their own pockets to help their students succeed.”

If you would like to make a donation to the store, please contact the Education Foundation by phone at 469/752-8272 or by email foundation@pisd.edu. The top five items requested are: index cards, Post-It notes, EXPO markers, tissues and wipes. The CORE store opened earlier this month. READ
