Happy Holidays from Plano ISD
I’m here with some of my friends at Sigler Elementary school, and as we tape this, the holidays are just around the corner.
This time of year, I always reflect on how much we share thoughts of “goodwill toward men” and speak of a “season of giving.” When I look at the operational beliefs that guide our work here in PISD, I see the words respect, compassion, positive relationships, nobility of mission and an unwavering belief in student potential. In our operational expectations that define what we want our students to learn, right alongside content knowledge and 21st century skills we include character traits of empathy, service and a strong appreciation for all people and all cultures.
Now and always, it is never lost on any of us in Plano ISD that our work, skills and compassion ultimately give children a gift that transcends any holiday or season. When we excel at our mission, we make our children’s dreams attainable, and we make our community a better place for all who live here. We promise to keep that in our hearts and in our work.
But now it is time for all of us to step back for a few days—to rest—and enjoy the holidays with the ones we love. So along with that, we have one simple message that we would like to bring to you—Happy Holidays Everybody! 2 minute, 15 seconds
