Student Performances & Awards Presentations Highlight Plano ISD's Annual MLK Tribute Event
"Our Legacy, Loud & Clear" was the theme for Plano ISD's tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., held the evening of January 22 at Williams High School. The annual event showcased student talent through stage and musical performances, an art gallery, essay readings and awards presentations. Plano ISD's tribute is a tradition featuring students, staff and community members. Pictured (above, clockwise from top left) are event chair Dr. Myrtle Hightower, featured event decor created by Plano ISD art teachers, one of several elementary students who read original essays, middle school students who shared the history of Plano and members of the Plano Children's Chorale. Plano ISD Education Foundation Invites Community to Ski Plano on January 31 at Southfork Ranch
Purchase tickets now new window for Ski Plano, the casual and fun gala hosted by the Plano ISD Education Foundation, with proceeds benefitting students and teachers. This 19th wintry season, the Ski Plano Lodge will take over Southfork Ranch from 6:30 to 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 31. Plano ISD Places on 5th Annual AP District Honor Roll
Plano ISD is one of 547 school districts in the U.S. and Canada being honored by the College Board with placement on the 5th Annual AP District Honor Roll for increasing access to Advanced Placement course work while simultaneously maintaining or increasing the percentage of students earning scores of 3 or higher on AP Exams. School Board Update

The Plano ISD Board of Trustees will meet in regular session at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 3, at the Plano ISD Administration Building, 2700 W. 15th Street in Plano. The agenda, including links to related documents, will be posted on BoardBook.

Trustees have also scheduled a special session to be held on Wednesday, February 4, to deliberate regarding the employment of a new superintendent of schools. The agenda is posted on BoardBook.
