Themes of Friendship and Embracing Differences Abound During Plano Inclusive Schools Week
Plano ISD students practiced compassion toward fellow students and adults with learning differences and friendship during the annual celebration of Plano Inclusive Schools Week, February 9-13. Activities hosted by PTA SAGE (Special and Gifted Education) volunteer chairs focused on inclusion of all students. Adopting a district wide resolution at their February 3 meeting, school board members reinforced the district's collaboration with the Plano ISD Council of PTAs SAGE Committee to provide an education that supports all children. Schools to Host Open Houses in February & March
Plano ISD faculty and students in grades Pre-K through middle school are ready to demonstrate how excellence in teaching and learning is "Loud & Clear" in Plano schools, during upcoming open houses. On February 26, early childhood schools will host open houses, and on March 2 and 5, respectively, middle schools (grades 6-8) and elementary schools (grades K-5) will host open houses. Alumni Association to Host 2nd Annual Golf Tournament
The Plano ISD Alumni Association, presenting sponsor Baylor Regional Medical Center at Plano and platinum sponsor InTouch Credit Union announce the 2nd Annual Alumni Golf Tournament to be held on Monday, March 30, at Gleneagles Country Club. Foundation Announces 'Ski Plano' a Huge Success
The Plano ISD Education Foundation announced this week that its January 31 fundraising gala Ski Plano was a huge success. Hundreds of guests enjoyed live and silent auctions, dinner, dancing and meeting guest emcee Kyle Bosworth, NFL free agent, former Dallas Cowboy and Plano West Senior High School alumnus. Special Called Meetings Related to Superintendent Search
Trustees met in special sessions on February 4, 8 and 13 to deliberate regarding the employment of a new superintendent of schools.
