Susan Modisette Assistant Superintendent for Campus Services in Plano ISD said in her letter of recommendation,
“His superior talent to lead through building relationships with students, staff and parents was immediately recognized…Bill’s leadership skills were incredibly balanced: he had the natural ability to lead a team of teachers and also a gift for understanding how to positively impact student learning. The underlying foundation was Bill’s deep understanding of how children learn and also his understanding of how important relationship building is to any situation.”
Kristin Rosi, Pre AP World Geography Team Leader at Shepton, has this to say about Bill,
“As a teacher, I have witnessed him build positive relationships with students and teachers, fight for productive professional development for staff and create new initiatives to improve our school culture…He consistently works to build positive relationships with the student body by supporting them both in the classroom and at games or extra-curricular events…Just as he supports his students, Mr McLaughlin also encourages his teachers, constantly challenging us to further our professional development and asking for our feedback on what we need to keep our instruction current and up-to-date."
And Shepton parents, Shaquille and Shahnaz Ahsan, expressed their appreciation,
“Mr. McLaughin is beyond outstanding in his commitment to his students and his school, always showing tremendous leadership…I strongly believe that he is always holding himself to the highest level of accountability in his job…Mr. McLaughlin has many gifts that he shares with his students which will enable them to maximize their potential, as well as always maintaining a contagious positive attitude which permeates the staff.”
