October 15, 2016
At the 4th Annual Frisco FirstBytes Programming Contest Plano ISD entered 18 teams from the three Senior High campuses. During this two-hour competition teams compete with other teams from the North Texas area. Students may use the Java API and bring one reference book. Students do not access the web to find solutions and win by solving the most problems.
Plano West Senior High School had three winning teams in three categories. Faculty sponsors are Plano West math teachers Robin Bailey and Tracy Ishman.
- Third place at the advanced level: Ritvik Annam, Ari Cohn and Rachael Thompson
- First place at the novice level: Aditya Arjun, Anish Yellaturu and Roy Xiong
- First place at the beginner level: Ashley Smith, Charissa Zou and Elizabeth Zou
