Plano
Schools Earn $300,000
in AP/IB Incentive Awards
August 25, 2006
Nine
Plano ISD schools have earned a total of more than $300,000 in
campus awards and teacher bonuses in the Texas Education Agency's
(TEA) Advanced Placement/International Baccalaureate (AP/IB) Incentive
Awards Program for May, 2005, examinations.
The
incentive program allows TEA to award up to $100 for each student
scoring a three or higher on an AP exam or four or higher on an
IB exam. Due to the availability of funds from the 2005 fiscal
year, an additional award is provided to each school for the deposit
of up to $50 in the teacher bonus pool for each student enrolled.
Teachers who instruct College Board AP or IB courses are eligible
to receive a share of the bonus pool funds.
