The Plano Independent School District Board of Trustees is currently searching for a new superintendent to replace Dr. Doug Otto who will begin his retirement on January 31.
The trustees have contracted with Thompson & Horton, School Executive Consulting, Inc., to conduct the search process. On behalf of the firm, Dr. Mike Moses and Mr. David Thompson facilitated focus groups on January 10, 25 and 26 in order to build a comprehensive superintendent candidate profile.
The focus groups consisted of parents, business leaders, PTA representatives, students, campus administrators, previous trustees, faith leaders and senior citizens. A status report was provided to the trustees at a special called meeting on Thursday, January 26.
