STEM Partnership to Improve Middle School Mathematics
This was the third year of a 3-year $300,000 commitment to improve middle school mathematics, funded by EDS Foundation, AEGON Direct Marketing, Exxon Mobil and Texas Instruments.
TI Foundation Innovations in Outstanding STEM Teaching Awards
Significant monetary awards and resources for top educators in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

Summer Physics Camp for Young Women
In just a few weeks, nearly 60 girls will participate in a physics camp to spark their interest and love of science. Sponsored by Women of TI.
Grants to Educators Program
This signature program of the Foundation impacted more than 16,000 students and families across the district through the distribution of nearly 60 educator grants.
5th Grade Adventure Camp
Student Scholarships
Allowed every 5th grade student the opportunity to participate in camp. View camp video.
Plano Family Literacy Program
This year, the literacy program was expanded to Meadows Elementary and is now reaching 35 additional families. The Foundation partnered with Capital One and Atmos Energy to assist the literacy program.

Teacher Recruitment and Retention Programs
Support of Plano ISD’s annual Recruitment Open House job fair, Teacher of the Year Gala and Employee Crisis Fund for personal emergencies
AVID Program
This program, which supports students with college-readiness skills, was expanded to 8 new campuses this year.
Prek Wolf Trap Performing Arts The prek program expanded the district's arts education curriculum and teacher training to the full prek-12 spectrum.

Plano ISD Education Foundation Raises
$1 Million in 2008-09, Honors Top Donors

The Plano ISD Education Foundation Board of Directors validated the nonprofit organization’s importance to the school district, as President Ralph Stow announced that the group raised more than $1 million for the second consecutive year to support Plano ISD schools in maintaining their high standards of excellence.
Among the five Valedictorian Donors whose organizations contributed $50,000+ to the Foundation this school year were the Employees of Plano ISD and AT&T Foundation. Accepting recognition on behalf of these organizations were (center) Jeff Gasaway, Jasper High School principal, whose campus raised 174% of its goal, and Mary Calderon of AT&T. Approximately 100 guests attended the Foundation's annual donor recognition event held on May 28 at Gleneagles Country Club. Recognitions were announced by Beth Webb (pictured), Foundation director who served as 2008-09 development chair and will serve as 2009-10 president. This year's most significant donation was the collective contribution of $114,080 made by more than 3,000 Plano ISD employees.
