Plano ISD Middle School Educators Capture Prestigious Texas Instruments Foundation Innovations in STEM Teaching Awards

Teachers Stephanie Schinnerer and Michele Poovey (above, l-r) were presented 2009 Texas Instruments Foundation Innovations in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Teaching Awards during a surprise announcement at the Plano ISD Board of Trustees' April 7 meeting. Each earned a $5,000 cash award and $5,000 for classroom technology and professional development. Four additional teachers were recognized as finalists.READ

School Board Update

Trustees held their regular meeting on April 7. Agenda items and links to supporting documents can be found on BoardBookopens in new window. The meeting can be viewed on Plano Time-Warner Cable Channel 99 and Verizon FIOS 33 at 8:00 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays and at noon on Saturday. Trustees meet again for a work session on April 21 at 6:00 p.m. at the Sockwell Center.
