Approve the application.
Complete grant applications are available in Jim Hirsch's office in the Curriculum Department and in Kathy Waskow's office in the Finance Department.
Business Impact:
Cash contribution: $217,365 (2006-07) $304,595 (2007-08)
The requested cash increase is due to increase in transportation and salary costs. Government funding cuts have caused a loss in the total amount of grant funds received causing a need for PISD to cover a larger percentage of staff salaries. Plano ISD Head Start students are included in the district's total ADA count. This helps reduce the total amount that PISD must send to state for recapture. Recapture amount reduction is estimated at $295,513.
