Purpose: A - Request decision - closure required

Description:

Bids for the following items were advertised, received and opened by the Purchasing Department. The appropriate department has evaluated all bids and forwarded their recommendation to the Purchasing Department to be reviewed for compliance with Educational Code 44.031 and School Board Policy.

This is a compliance bid for the purchase of replacement general hardware for all District locations. This is the first year of a renewable bid.

The Facility Services Bid committee has reviewed this bid and recommends that all bidders be awarded. The intent of the bid specification was to establish an approved list of local vendors that provide various hardware items. This recommendation is based on the quality of the goods from all bidders. The bid was formatted for a discount from catalog price. The discount from catalog allows staff the flexibility to find the items that best fit the project requirements at the most competitive price. Tab sheet attached.

Recommendation:

The Administration recommends that the bid for the purchase of General Hardware be awarded to:
C & W Electric - Discount Off Catalog Pricing;
Fairway Supply, Inc. - Discount Off Catalog Pricing;
Lowe's #505 - Discount Off Catalog Pricing;
Mico Industrial Corp.- Discount Off Catalog Pricing.

Business Impact:

Estimated Value: $70,000.00.
Budget/Financial Implication: Various Facilities Supply Budgets.
Evaluation Criteria: Price; Vendor Reputation; Vendor History with the District; Quality of Vendor's Service; Best Meets the Needs of the District.
