Philosophy of Teaching
"Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach." Hah!
I would have to disagree with that one. That is definitely not how
it is! Teachers are the ones who have such a passion for learning
that they inspire others through their positive energy. They
are not always recognized for their success, but they are always compensated
by their students' achievements.
I have heard that teachers are not created they are born. With
this, I am one of a minority of people who have the
ability to live my dream helping others achieve
theirs! It
is crucial to be an enthusiastic teacher in order
to excite students. This
in turn entices them to participate. I ABSOLUTELY
LOVE TEACHING, and while doing so I am privileged to
have the glory of giving the most valuable tool my
students may ever receive. This gift is their future!
In order to ensure my students' success I must first create a nurturing
environment where students will feel comfortable
taking risks. I
must make sure that all of my students will be successful
by giving them the individual attention necessary
for mastery. My lessons incorporate many different
learning styles including auditory,
tactile,
visual and kinesthetic types. Therefore, it becomes
automatic for my students to use many different parts
of their brain to accomplish one task. Since more
parts are stimulated, there is a higher likelihood that the children
will
retain it. If
I can bridge them to have the self-confidence to
take on ANYTHING!
I also know it is vital to let the kids know I genuinely care.
It is not rare to see me at soccer games, birthday
parties, visiting homes, eating lunch together or
simply emailing over break. It
is important to create a strong bond which is great
because I get to see them outside of academics! Furthermore,
I can pull in their interests and relate them back
to academic situations.
Just remember, those who "CAN" ... guide others to be resourceful and responsible thinkers growing to become capable citizens. I like to call them TEACHERS!

School Principal Recommendation
As a student in PISD, Beth Kruep kept her focus
on achieving her dream of one day teaching. Today,
this exceptional and talented teacher joyfully gives
back to our district and students as a first year
teacher. I am honored and amazed as I enjoy experiencing
teaching through her eyes. She thrills in the challenges
and rewards teaching brings each day and with each
learner.
Although her high energy level and "can do" attitude
mark that of a new teacher, her command of the classroom
and connections she builds with her children clearly
communicate that of a natural and experienced teacher.
Beth constantly reminds me that children mirror
what they see and experience in relating to us. For
example, she builds on each child's strengths and
emphasizes the positive so that all children put
forth the necessary risks and efforts required for
life-long learning to occur.
Her enthusiasm for teaching
and outstanding character continually impact and
influence very facet of our school community: students,
staff
and parents. In her heart she carries a belief
that the teaching profession is a calling and honor.
No
challenge is too big or triumph too small, for
they are all parts of the whole.
Her enthusiasm and dedication to our profession
are made obvious in everything she does and enhance
the school faculty. The parent community frequently
provides positive feedback about the strong relationships
and trust she has built with each family. Most importantly,
the children adore her and know she sincerely believes
in each of them and all they hope for.
Exceptional educators like Ms. Kreup will indeed
allow us to meet our community goal of reaching every
child while enhancing education in all ways. Beth
exemplifies the characteristics of the highly regarded
Plano ISD Beginning Teacher of the Year. I can only
imagine what the future holds for Beth because she
is so outstanding in every way.
